United action by Haryana Roadways workers forced the state government to bend and agree to their demands

On 14 November Haryana Roadways workers went on strike to protest against the murder of a Roadways driver, Rajbir on 12 November by a group of youth after an altercation and to demand adequate compensation and job for a family member of the deceased.

When all the 3350 buses of the Roadways went off the road due to the united action of workers under the banner of their united front (Sanjha Morcha), the Minister of Transport agreed to meet the delegation of Presidents/General secretary of 20 unions on 14th evening.

The strike was withdrawn later in the evening when the government agreed to provide a Group C job to the son and immediate compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the family of the killed driver.
