Report received from ICF United Workers Union – CITU
After 5 years of struggles of ICF United Workers Union – CITU with the guidelines of All India, Tamil Nadu State and District committee, a contract workers union under the banner of CITU has been established at ICF.
The meeting was attended by 120 ICF contract workers from 5 firms involved in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Cleaning work inside and outside of the factory which includes 4 ICF Colonies). Despite various threats by the Management of some the Contract companies, contract workers especially women workers attended with enthusiasm. It has to be appreciated that women workers were around 50 of those who attended.
