After a militant struggle lasting 28 days, AILRSA Southern Railway at its Zonal Executive Committee meeting decided to call off the agitation. (Statement of General Secretary, AILRSA South Zone is enclosed.)
The militant actions of the Loco Pilots of Southern Railway supported by Loco Pilots all over India as well as fraternal organisations like KEC, AIFAP, DREU, SRES, AISMA, AITCA, AIRTU, etc. and the pressure from elected Members of Parliament put tremendous pressure on the highest railway authorities to consider the genuine demands of the loco pilots and set aside all penal actions.

Dear Comrades
Our agitation to establish our long pending rights continued more vigorously despite of penal actions such as charge sheets, penal transfers, suspensions, etc.
On 24/06/24 our delegates met Hon’ble General Manager/Southern Railway.
Our delegates Com. R. Kumaresan Zonal President, and Com. C.S. Kishore Zonal Working President camped at Delhi from 24/06/24 to meet MPs.
They could appraise majority of MPs irrespective of political affiliation.
On 27/06/24 a team of 4 MPs met Hon’ble Minister for Railways and explained our demands in detail.
Finally, Hon’ble Minister for Railways assured all positive steps to address our genuine demands.
Hon’ble Minister for Railways also assured to the delegates of MPs that necessary communication will be sent to set aside all penal actions.
Taking all this into account, the Zonal executive committee meeting held on 28/06/24 through online decided to call off the ongoing agitation for the time being.
We will continue all efforts to have the penal actions cancelled and continue our agitation till we achieve our long pending rights.
On behalf of South Zone I salute all comrades who stood boldly in our agitation withstanding all kinds of suppressions.
