Report by Kamgar Ekta Committee (KEC) correspondent

The Joint Forum of Union Bank Unions (JFUBU) has called for an all-India strike on 30 September 2024 for key demands such as adequate recruitment of clerks and absorption of casual workers. Starting on 28 August, the unions will participate in badge-wearing and regional and national-level demonstrations before their strike on 30 September. The JFUBU includes the All India Union Bank Employees Federation (AIUBEF), All India Union Bank Staff Federation (AIUBSF), Union Bank Staff Association (UBSA), and Union Bank of India Employees Union, Delhi (UBIEU, Delhi).

In July 2024, Union Bank workers across the country organized demonstrations for recruitment. The AIUBEA and All India Union Bank Officers’ Federation (AIUBOF) also wrote a joint letter to the Union Bank management demanding filling up of vacancies to address staff shortage.
