Railway Loco Pilots and Guards of East Coast Railway held protest at Visakhapatnam for their demand of increase of mileage allowance

Report received from All India Loco Running Staff Association, East Coast Railway

When employees of all departments in Indian Railway go out on duty, they are given traveling allowance (TA) but railway loco pilots and guards are given mileage allowance instead of TA.

There is a rule that railway loco pilots and guards should be given a minimum mileage allowance of 120 kilometers. Till now they used to be given like that.

But recently this has been cut and they are given very less allowance for as little as 50 kms and 30 kms despite orders from the Railway Board to give a minimum mileage of 120 kilometers.

A protest was held on Monday to demand mileage allowance due to them as per the Railway Board orders.
