The circular of Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) below highlights how banks in India are increasingly employing contract and outsourced workers (including Business Correspondents and apprentices), taking away workers’ rights to social security and equal pay. This is also an attack on the trade union movement. BEFI observed All India Demand Day to demand that banks should immediately take up adequate permanent recruitment.
