Government is privatizing power industries for the benefit of Adani and Ambani – Comrade Mohan Sharma, General Secretary of All India Federation of Electricity Employees

On November 6, 2025, the 51st State General Conference of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Employees Association was begun by Com. Jawaharlal Vishwakarma by hoisting the flag. The conference was inaugurated by Mohan Sharma, General Secretary of All India Electricity Employees Federation. He discussed in detail the problems faced by workers in the energy sector at various national, international and regional levels, especially in the country. The Central Government is working to privatize the power department and other government departments to benefit the Ambani and Adani governments.

The ongoing privatization in the power industry, especially the potential losses to farmers, workers, employees and consumers in the future due to the Electricity Amendment Bill, were discussed in detail. If the Government of India tries to pass the bill, then a big protest by all the workers of the country will be held at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on 30th January 2026, said Comrade Mohan Sharma at the meeting of the National Coordination Committee of Employees and Engineers held in Mumbai.

The proceedings of the conference were conducted by Com. Jawaharlal Vishwakarma and Com. Kesar Singh Rawat. The Presidium consisted of Com. Jawaharlal Vishwakarma, Com. Kesar Singh Rawat, Com. V.K. Awasthi and Com. Rampal Yadav.

About 300 delegates participated in the conference. Uttar Pradesh Trade Union Congress President Comrade B.K. Singh, General Secretary Comrade Chandrashekhar, C.P.I. State Secretary Comrade Arvind Raj Swarup, Jharkhand’s Baijnath Singh, Rajasthan Electricity Board leader Keshav Vyas, Comrade K.D. Dwivedi were present. The special guests were Obra Thermal Project Chief General Manager R.K. Agrawal, S.N.Mishra (GM), S.K. Singla CGM, B, Ajay Kumar Singh, Pradeep Kumar Kanojia, Dharmendra Sharma, Ajay Pandey, Jawaharlal Vishwakarma, Yogendra Kumar Dubey, Pradeep, Abhishek, Saurabh, Sandeep Singh, Mulayam Singh, Updesh, Sankalp etc. were present in the conference.
