Report of Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Parishad Abhiyanta Sangh

(Translation of Hindi report)
Wearing black bands, engineers across the state staged a massive protest today, the first day of the agitation against the harassment of power engineers
Demand to end all acts of oppression committed against workers during their democratic andolan
As per the instructions of the Central Executive of the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Parishad Abhiyanta Sangh, today, on the first day of the movement, engineers across the state protested strongly by wearing black bands. They demanded withdrawal of all harassment actions taken by the power management against engineers during their democratic andolan.
Engineer Jitendra Singh Gurjar, Abhiyanta Sangh General Secretary, said that on the first day of the agitation against harassment, engineers wore black bands and organized powerful protests in the districts and projects in the state.
He further informed that despite the clear instructions of the Honorable Energy Minister on 19 March 2023 to withdraw all oppressive actions, the oppressive actions taken during the March 2023 agitation have not been stopped yet. Engineers are being harassed by stopping their promotions and salary hikes. Along with this, even during electricity workers’ democratic agitation against electricity privatization that has been going on for almost a year, the power management has adopted a dictatorial attitude and is preparing to stop the promotion of engineers by targeting them and giving them chargesheets without any reason. Even the permanent orders of engineers have been stopped in the name of consultation letters, and engineers have been transferred to remote places. The above actions are causing great resentment among engineers of in entire state.
Engineer Sanjay Singh Chauhan, Abhiyanta Sangh President, stated that the power management has undertaken neither talks nor meaningful action to end the harassment of engineers, which reflects the management’s stubborn attitude. Given this authoritarian attitude, the union has no option but to resort to agitation. The power management has been requested again to end all harassment through dialogue, so that a better work environment can be established in the power corporations.
The Abhiyanta Sangh has requested the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath ji, to intervene in the above matter and kindly end all harassment actions through talks so that the power engineers of the state can stop the agitation and focus fully on ensuring better power supply to consumers and making the “Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2025” successful.
