Strong protests held in Lucknow and various districts as Uttar Pradesh power workers’ struggle against privatization completes one year

Report of Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti (VKSSS)

To mark the completion of one year of the ongoing struggle against electricity privatization in Uttar Pradesh—which is aimed at benefiting a select few capitalists—strong protests were held in various districts of the state, including the capital Lucknow.

At the protests, workers resolved to continue their struggle until the privatization proposal is repealed and all harassment of electricity workers is ended. Honorable Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath is requested to cancel the proposal to privatize electricity in the larger public interest.
