Workers of city transport undertaking of Mumbai, BEST demand immediate stoppage of privatization of BEST and of any efforts to sell land and assets of BEST.
On 10th January 2026, workers belonging to various unions of city transport undertaking of Mumbai, BEST organized a meeting under the banner of BEST Sanyukt Kamgar Kruti Samiti. The meeting attended by more than 200 workers deliberated on the struggle which they plan to organize for their demands like immediate settlement of their long pending dues like pension, immediate stoppage of privatization of BEST transport undertaking by cancelling wet lease agreements with private contractors, immediate stoppage of any efforts by BEST management to sell of BEST owned land and assets, immediate investment to ensure increase BEST owned bus fleet from current less than 400 to more than 3300 etc.
Working people of Mumbai and many organizations like Kamgar Ekta Committee and Aamachi Mumbai Aamachi BEST, are also supporting this just struggle against privatisation of BEST transport undertaking and for the rights of BEST workers.
