Workers in Rajasthan organize rally to oppose New Education Policy | Video Courtesy: Vikalp Vani

Under the banner of the All-Rajasthan State Employees’ United Federation, hundreds of workers in Jaipur organized a rally on 12 January 2026 to demand withdrawal of the New Education Policy (NEP). Workers stated that with this policy, permanent hiring of teachers has been replaced with the contract system and many schools will be shut. They noted that the land of these schools—worth crores of rupees—will ultimately be sold off to private players.

We are promised the right to education, but there is no mechanism where citizens can stop such destructive policies from being implemented, forcing people to take to the streets for their just demands. As seen in this video, NEP is just another way to increase privatisation in education and boost private profits. All workers and toilers must unitedly oppose this attack.
