Government employees in Rajasthan organised a maha-rally for demands such as equal pay for equal work, permanent appointment of contract and honorarium workers, and restoration of old pension and to protest against privatisation.

Thousands of government employees from 88 departments participated in a warning rally in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, on 12 January 2026. These employees included teachers, scheme workers, health workers, forest department personnel, stenographers, and Krishi Mitras. Workers from organizations such as the Rajasthan Nursing Federation, Rajasthan Physical Education Teachers Association, Rajasthan Panchayat Teachers Association, Cook-cum-Helper Struggle Committee-Rajasthan, Rajasthan Subordinate Statistics Employees Association, LHV-ANM Association of Rajasthan, Rajasthan Housing Board Employees Association, Rajasthan Patwar Association, Rajasthan Kanungo Association, Rajasthan Teachers Association (Progressive), and many others participated.

The warning rally was led by the All Rajasthan State Employees Joint Federation. The rally started from Ramniwas Bagh and traveled through several routes in the heart of Jaipur, reaching the Civil Lines Gate. Protesters carried placards, flags, and banners bearing their demands. Upon reaching Civil Lines, the rally transformed into a massive public gathering.
Addressing the gathering, speakers demanded equal pay for equal work, permanent employment for contract and honorarium workers, and restoration of the old pension system. They opposed privatization and pointed out that it threatens workers and their jobs.

Office bearers of the Federation warned that if the government does not take a positive stand on the demands of the employees soon, the agitation will be intensified.
A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan with demands to remove promotion and pay anomalies, restore the old pension scheme, regularize contract and honorarium employees, issue a transparent transfer policy, stop privatization, protect the interests of employees, etc.
