Report by Kamgar Ekta Committee (KEC) correspondent

The National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE) held a convention on 10 March 2026 at the Constitution Club in New Delhi to oppose the Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
As the Bill is expected to be put up in the Lok Sabha any time, the Members of Parliament were invited to brief them about the anti-people features of the Bill. A detailed presentation was made to highlight how the Bill will adversely affect farmers, other electricity consumers and power sector workers.
The convention was attended by the representatives of the constituent members of the NCCOEEE as well as by the representatives of the All India Forum against Privatisation (AIFAP).
The NCCOEEE has been spearheading the opposition to Bill. On the call of the NCCOEEE, protest actions were also held all over the country to oppose the Bill on the same day.
