Under the banner of NCCOEEE, the northern regional convention of all national federations of electricity employees and engineers and of various organisations and people opposing privatisation was organised in Chandigarh on 19 March. Leaders of various federations participated in the conference and warned that NCCOEEE will be forced to launch a nationwide agitation if the Chandigarh administration and central government do not withdraw the process of privatisation of the Chandigarh Electricity Department.
