Report of Rajasthan Vidyut Shramik Mahasangh
On the call of All India Electricity Workers’ Federation, on 9th October, under the leadership of Rajasthan Vidyut Shramik Mahasangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, workers of all the five corporations of Rajasthan took out a rally at Vidyut Bhawan and held a one-day symbolic dharna/demonstration regarding various demands and after talks with the corporation administration, submitted a memorandum.
The main demands of the 24-point charter of demands of Rajasthan Vidyut Shramik Mahasangh are as follows:
- Privatisation being done under the names of franchise, cluster, CLRC, MBC and IT etc. should be stopped.
- CPF deductions should be discontinued and GPF deductions should be initiated.
- The five power corporations should be merged to form a board or corporation.
- The designation of feeder in-charge should be approved, rationalizing the 27 contradictory duties, and incentives for additional duties should be resumed as before.
- 25% of the direct recruitment positions for junior engineers should be filled by ITI technical personnel working in the corporation, following the pattern of Uttar Pradesh.
- Employees appointed on the basis of preference should be designated as junior clerks/commercial assistants II.
- The post of senior engineering supervisor should be created.
- The entire amount of bonuses/ex-gratia and outstanding dearness allowance should be paid in cash in the power corporations as before.
- All technical employees should be given a uniform washing allowance of ₹180 per month, similar to the Rajasthan government.
Along with the main demands, the demands of employees of all cadres of the power corporations were prominently included in a 24-point memorandum. It was requested that these demands should be discussed and fulfilled soon.
