Maharashtra State government employees and semi-government employees, teachers and non-teaching staff go on indefinite strike for their long pending demands

Call of Government-Semi-Government, Teacher-Non-Teaching Staff Coordination Committee, Maharashtra

The failure of repeated attempts to draw the attention of the state government and discuss their long pending demands over last fifteen months has forced the Maharashtra state government employees and teachers to resort to strike. Even the demands accepted in the State Assembly have not been implemented. More and workers are employed on contract or daily and part-time basis instead of filling large number of vacancies. Striking employees deserve support of the working people of Maharashtra.

  • The pending demands accepted by the Legislative Assembly were forgotten by the Government.
  • Due to inaction on the long-pending demands, the employees and teachers are disgruntled.

Angry government-semi-government, teacher-non-teaching employees

Are on indefinite strike from 21st April

Respected brothers and sisters,

Be prepared to fight for our survival from 21st April. Even after giving adequate time to the coalition government, it takes a recalcitrant role in the matters of employees and teachers. This is an insensitive government that does not allow honest discussion. The smoking embers of the employees and teachers is definitely going to burst into flames on April 21st.

Demands pending year after year:

  • A detailed notification regarding the implementation of the reformed National Retirement Salary Scheme should be issued immediately.
  • To take decisions after discussion at the Chief Minister level, on the problems faced by government employees, semi-government employees and teachers and non-teaching staff of the education department, a platform for discussion should be made available once in two months.

  • “PFRDA” Act should be repealed and the amount accumulated with the fund manager should be transferred to the concerned state government.
