Letter by South Central Railway Mazdoor Union and the Railway Board Circular on Manpower Rationalization Target for 2026-27
Instead of fulfilling the demand of rail workers to fill in over 2.5 lakh vacancies in various categories of Indian Railways, the Railway Board has set target of surrender of 29,608 sanctioned posts in various zones, production unis and other units during 2026-27. The existing vacancies have created unbearable work pressure and stress particularly on safety category of rail workers. The surrender of posts will further worsen the situation. Only the unity of rail workers can stop these draconian measures of the railway administration.
