Letter by All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) to the Chief Minister
The proposed creation of an Agriculture DISCOM and the introduction of a parallel distribution licensee are nothing but steps towards the privatization of the public electricity distribution system. These measures will adversely affect farmers, other consumers and electricity workers. Power distribution infrastructure of DISCOMS have been built over decades with people’s money and hard work of electricity workers. They should not be weakened for the benefit of corporates and their capitalist owners.
