Letter No. 625/Sangharsh

21.10.2026

To,

The Chairman,

UPPCL / UPPTCL / UPRVUNL,

Shakti Bhawan, Lucknow

Subject: Request regarding not sending Uttar Pradesh electricity employees and engineers on duty to Haryana during the proposed three-day strike of electricity employees and engineers in Haryana

Sir,

On behalf of the Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, Uttar Pradesh, we would like to draw your attention to the three-day strike starting tonight by the electricity employees and engineers in Haryana.

We have received information that the relevant circular/directive issued by the Government of Haryana mentions contacting neighboring states to arrange for the services of their electricity employees and engineers to manage the electricity system during the strike.

In this regard, we would like to state humbly that the Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, Uttar Pradesh, and the electricity employees and engineers of Uttar Pradesh express complete solidarity and support for the agitation of their colleagues in Haryana. We believe that disputes related to electricity employees and engineers should be resolved through mutual dialogue, respectful negotiations, and just decisions.

It is also noteworthy that just before an important festival like Diwali, there is already a severe shortage of employees and technical personnel in the electricity corporations of Uttar Pradesh. During this period, the availability of a sufficient number of electricity employees and engineers is extremely essential to ensure uninterrupted power supply, necessary maintenance of power lines and substations, to deal with emergency situations, and to provide better services to consumers.

In such a situation, sending Uttar Pradesh electricity employees and engineers to Haryana is apprehended to have an adverse effect on the power system of the state, especially the uninterrupted power supply and maintenance work during Diwali. At the same time, this may also harm the legitimate side of the agitating electricity employees and engineers of Haryana.

Therefore, we earnestly request you to keep the above circumstances in mind and ensure that no electricity employee, engineer, or other technical personnel from Uttar Pradesh is sent on duty to Haryana to operate the power system there during the strike, nor should any directives be issued to make their services available for this purpose.

We have full confidence that you will take an appropriate decision on this matter, keeping in view the requirements of the power system of Uttar Pradesh, the interests of consumers during Diwali, and the spirit of solidarity among electricity employees and engineers across the country.

Thanking you.
