On 24 October 2026, a family seminar for loco pilots was organized at the office club at Kota by the Divisional Railway administration of West Central Railway Zone. In this, the wives of loco pilots vented their anger in front of the officials regarding the issues of being forced to work more than the stipulated hours, not being called on time, and not getting leave and rest on time.
The wives said that the officials are forcing loco pilots to work more than 14 hours. Calls are being made in 14 hours instead of 16. Despite repeated requests, leave and rest are not being given on time. This is not allowing loco pilots to give their family enough time and also not allowing them to do their household chores.
The wives said that due to all this, loco pilots are forced to work under stress. The continuous stress is affecting the health of loco pilots. They are falling prey to serious diseases before time. Therefore, their medical check-ups should be done every six months instead of once a year, so that serious diseases can be identified in time.
About 14 wives of loco staff attended the seminar. Among them, the number of loco inspector’s wives was more. The wives of the assistant and loco pilot were fewer.
Loco pilots told that such family seminars are held every year and all these issues are raised every time but no action is taken to solve their problems.
