Subject: Regarding provision of risk and hardship allowance to signalling and telecommunication department employees

Sir,

On behalf of Indian Railways’ signalling and telecommunication department employees, the Indian Railways S&T Maintainers’ Union had submitted a letter to your hon’ble self on 14.02.2024, requesting the provision of risk and hardship allowance to all S&T employees in all divisions of the railways. After submitting our request, your office informed us on 01.05.2024 that

“A Committee was constituted in Ministry of Railways to examine the issue of inclusion of fresh categories within the ambit of Risk & Hardship Allowance. The Committee has submitted its report and a suitable proposal has been forwarded to Ministry of Finance. Reply from Ministry of Finance is awaited.”

However, Indian Railways’ S&T employees continue to be deprived of the risk and hardship allowance. Therefore, we request your hon’ble self to advise the Ministry of Finance to approve the allowance for S&T workers.

Thank you
Copy to: FM and MR

With utmost respect,
Alok Chandra Prakash
