JKCCTU held its extended State committee meeting of Kashmir province on 5 April at Union office Bemina Srinagar which was attended by office bearers, state committee members, district president / secretaries and representatives of affiliated associations and unions. The meeting was presided over by Mohamad Maqbool, State President. The agenda was put before the committee by Shiekh Nazir Ahmad Asstt. Gen. Secretary.

The meeting expressed its serious concern over the mad drive of privatisation of power sector by the Central government and recent decision regarding the curtailment of pension rights of existing pensioners by excluding them from the 8th pay commission recommendations which is highly condemnable.
