Report received from Comrade Krishna Bhoyar, Deputy General Secretary, All India Federation of Electricity Employees (AIFEE)

The oldest and first union affiliated to All India Federation of Electricity Employees, Meghalaya State Board All Employees Stop Union and now renamed Meghalaya State Electricity Corporation Limited All Employees Stop Union, was met on 6th November 2025 at the Shad Hotel, Shillong by Comrade Krishna Bhoyar, Deputy General Secretary, All India Federation of Electricity Employees (AIFEE) and General Secretary of Maharashtra State Electricity Workers Federation and Comrade Bharti Bhoyar, President of Mahila Aghadi Maharashtra State Electricity Workers Federation. Comrade Sham I. Sharkongour, (President, A.J. Varjari, Treasurer, and Comrade R.R. Madlingan, General Secretary) of the Meghalaya Union were present at the meeting.
They had a wide-ranging discussion on various issues of the distribution company, Meghalaya Energy State Corporation Limited. They were also given detailed information about the decision taken in the Mumbai meeting of the National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers regarding the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2025, proposed by the Central Government. They visited the headquarters of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited along with local office bearers.
Currently, there are three companies operating in Meghalaya under the umbrella of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited, namely Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation, Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation. The number of employees and engineers working in all three companies is 4500. All are permanent employees; there are no contractual workers.
