Strike letters received from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (W.O.U.) Karmachari Sangathana, Coal Mines Workers’ Union, and Joint Action Committee of Trade Unions South Eastern Coalfields Limited (OHPC)
A very large number of unions representing public sector workers have sent legal notices to the respective authorities, declaring that their members will be joining the all-India strike on 12 February 2026. We are attaching herewith some of those notices from:
- Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (W.O.U.) Karmachari Sangathana
- Coal Mines Workers’ Union
- Joint Action Committee of Trade Unions South Eastern Coalfields Limited (OHPC)
Koyla Shramik Sabha (affiliated to HMS) has also sent a strike letter, which is presented on our Hindi website (www.hindi.aifap.org.in).
All of them have expressed their full support to the various demands being raised by the strike call given by the Central Trade Unions, including the following demands:
- Halt to the disinvestment/privatization of PSUs
- Immediate withdrawal of the four labour codes
- Immediate withdrawal of Draft Electricity Act (Amendment) Bill 2025
- Stoppage of contractualization in permanent and perennial work
- Withdrawal of Shram Shakti Niti 2025
Coal workers have also raised the following important demands:
- Stoppage of disinvestment or buyback of shares of Coal India or its subsidiaries
- Stoppage of commercial mining of coal industry
- Stoppage of privatisation and contractualization of coal mines, iron ore mines and other mines through MDO (Mining Developers cum Operators) and revenue sharing route
- Revoke permission given to 18 private companies for exploration and preparation of geological reports and mines planning, which is currently being done by the Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI)
