In Palghar district of Maharashtra, thousands of people have been consistently fighting over decades to oppose the proposed Vadhwan port, which will result in the displacement of multiple villages, destruction of livelihoods, and damage to the environment. Unions of fishermen, dye-makers, and other workers and farmers are participating actively. In the below video, members of the Vadhwan Bandar Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti share how the administration has ignored their demands and tried to suppress their struggle by creating divisions. However, the people have bravely resolved to continue fighting to save their land, livelihoods, and sea.
