Letter of All India Power Engineers Federation to Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh
The proposal of corporatization of the Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD) and formation of a joint venture (JV) with another public sector company is not in the interest of consumers and employees of power department. The profit orientation of the JV will inevitably lead to higher tariffs and severely affect domestic consumers. What is required is to strengthen the LPDD so that people of Ladakh even in far flung areas are well served with uninterrupted affordable supply of power.
