– Reminds us of Historical STRIKE Of UP POWER ENGINEERS
1979 STRIKE will always inspire Power Engineers for offering GREAT SACRIFICE to save the prestige and dignity of the engineering community.
— More than 1600 Power Engineers including one Chief Engineer and 85 Superintending Engineers voluntarily courted arrest against atrocities of the then UP Govt defying MISA (Maintenance of Internal security Act – now known as NSA).
— Starting from 29th November 1979 Power Engineers continued to offer voluntarily arrest every day till 10th Dec until UP Govt bowed down and all Power Engineers were released unconditionally followed by bilateral talks initiated by the then Chief Minister.
— As Result of Historical STRIKE UP Power Engineers became pioneer in the country to get TIME BOUND PAY SCALES & three Pay Revisions wef 1969,1974 and 1979.
LET US TAKE PLEDGE ON THIS DAY TO BE ALWAYS READY FOR ANY SACRIFICE TO SAFEGUARD THE PRESTIGE AND HONOUR OF POWER ENGINEERS.
