A day to remember

UP Power Engineers Historical Strike of 1973 after which the then UP Chief Minister announced in UP Assembly that henceforth a Power Engineer will be Chairman of UP State Electricity Board.
The then Union Power Minister Dr K L Rao supported the demand of UP Power Engineers in Parliament. I salute Dr K L Rao, a great Engineer on this day. A Power Engineer as Chairman of UPSEB continued till unbundling of UPSEB in 2000, even after unbundling first Chairman of UPPCL was an Engineer. But now scenario has changed. Throughout the country everywhere IAS or other service persons are Chairman and Power Secretary.
We salute UP Power Engineers the real heroes of UP 1973 Strike and UPRVP Abhiyanta Sangh on Solidarity Day & take pledge to restore the glory of professional management in Power Sector.
TODAY is birth date of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. We feel proud that Engineers Solidarity Day coincides with birth date of great son of Bharat Mata. Salute to Neta Ji
