JAIL BHARO
Visakha Ukku Parirakshna Porata Committee (Struggle Committee) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Trade Unions and Joint Action Committee of Trade Unions and Mass Organisations have given a call for “JAIL BHARO” programme on 13th February 2022 to intensify the struggle against the privation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL). Workers from Steel Plant and other organisations and people from different mass organisations participated arrested themselves voluntarily in Jail Bharo programme.
Jail Bharo rally was flagged off by R Narayana Murthy a film producer, Actor, Director at Kurmannapalem Junction he addressed the gathering before the rally started and inspired the gathering. He expressed that Narendra Modi betrayed Andhra Pradesh people in several issues assured in state bifurcation and selling assets to the corporate sector and the one and only industry Visakhapatnam Steel Plant which is providing largest employment in the state is at 100% strategic sale which is not desirable in the interest of Andhra Pradesh in particular and Nation at large. He demanded the Government to withdraw the decision of Sale of steel plant forthwith. He admired Visakha Ukku Parirakshna Porata Committee for their relentless and sustained struggle for the past one year and expressed his solidarity. In Jail Bharo programme struggle committee Chairman Ch. Narsinga Rao, Mantri Rajashekar, D Adinarayana Convener J Ayodhya Ram, G Venkatarao, K Satyannaarayana and all trade union leaders and workers participated in Jail Bharo Programme.
JAC of Trade Unions and Mass organisations have organised Jail Bharo programme in three places one from the relay hunger fast pandal at GVMC Gandhi statue, another rally at Pendurthy and at Bhimily. 100s of people have joined in these rallies and were arrested voluntarily. From hunger fast pandal at GVMC was led by JAC Chairman M Jaggunaidu CITU and vice-chairman Nagabhushanam INTUC,
Padal Ramana AITUC, K Kanakarao CFTUI and other members from TNTUC, SFI, AISFI, DYFI, Public Sector Coordination Committee, Praja Arogya Vedika, AIDWA, etc and took out a rally via RTC complex to II town police station.
