Massive Public Sector Protection Public Meeting in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh on 5 March

A massive public meeting with around 2000 people was organized on 5 March evening in Rajahmundry, in the name of Public Sector Protection Public Meeting, synchronized with the Dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi against LIC IPO.

Com. MAF Benarji, President, ICEU, Rajahmundry presided over the meeting. Com.M Kodandaram, Vice -President, ICEU invited guests to the dias. Com. Bharani & Com. Eswara Rao felicitated the eminent speakers.

Sri Undavalli Arun Kumar, Former MP & Sri I Venkateswara Rao, MLC were the key note speakers. They brilliantly analysed the privatization policies of Modi Government and exhorted people to fight back against the policies. Com. P Satish, President, SCZIEF gave an account of Disinvestment of LIC and explained the struggles of AIIEA.

Leadership of UFBU, Medical Rep, BSNL, Postal, CITU, AITUC, ICREA, LIAFI, LICAOI, Retired Association, Teachers (UTF), State Govt Employees & 30 organizations were represented at the public Meeting.

Employees, Agents from 19 Branches attended the meeting in scorching heat and came to the venue by hiring buses, jeeps, cars, etc. The meeting was a thumping success in terms of mobilizing almost all unions in Rajahmundry Division for the public meeting & CITU extended total support for the success of the meeting.

The Face book live of this meeting has received tremendous response & Com. GV Apparao, our Senior Comrade deserves accolades for the painstaking efforts. Kudos to leadership of ICEU, Leadership, Activists of Head Quarters Units (Rajahmundry DO, 69M & 676) for wonderful initiative. Pensioner comrades under ICREA & Temporary sub-staffs have extended excellent support.

Com. G Rambabu, Joint Secretary proposed vote of thanks & meeting passed a resolution supporting 2-day strike on 28, 29th Strike in March.
