Call of All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF)
National Convention of the National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE) in protest against the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 was held on 2nd August at the Constitution Club of Delhi.
MPs & leaders of political parties came to the convention and opposed the anti-people Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022, and extended their support to Power Employees.
Mainly Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, Communist Party of India MP E Karim and Binoy Viswam, senior labour leader & MP for many years Tapan Sen, Hannan Mollah of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, AITUC, CITU, INTUC, HMS, AIUTUC national leaders declared strong support to the struggle of the workers.
Shri Sanjay Singh and E Karim also informed that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Prahlad Joshi called the Parliamentary Party leaders of all political parties at 11:00 am today (02August) and informed that the Central Government has decided that The Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 will be introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament and will be passed. Shri Sanjay Singh and E Karim and other opposition leaders strongly opposed this and demanded that the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 should be referred to the Parliamentary Committee on Electricity Affairs of the Parliament for detailed discussion with all the stakeholders, but in this regard Shri Prahlad Joshi did not give any clear assurance.
It is clear from this that the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 may be placed in the Parliament anytime next week.
The National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers has decided that if the Central Government tries to forcefully pass the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022, then the day as & when this bill will be placed in Parliament, all the electricity workers, Junior Engineers and Engineers across the country will spontaneously on the same day resort to stop work and leave the work place and gather at one place and hold protest throughout the day. Apart from this, on August 10, Power workers will demonstrate their solidarity by holding massive protests at all districts and project headquarters across the country.
This is the conclusive phase of the decisive struggle to stop the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022. If not now, then when? It’s NOW OR NEVER. Unite and demonstrate your steely unity – you will definitely get success.
Inqilab Zindabad.
