Adani Electricity has applied to the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission to seek permission to distribute electricity in the Navi Mumbai area of Mahavitaran. Against this and the privatisation of the Puducherry Electricity Department, electricity employees, engineers and officers in Maharashtra protested by holding demonstrations and gate meetings across the state on 4th October.
