Uttar Pradesh electricity workers to boycott work indefinitely from November 29 in protest against the negative working system of the management

Report by Kamgar Ekta Committee (KEC) correspondent

Uttar Pradesh Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti has decided to boycott work indefinitely in all power corporations from 29 November. The committee has taken this decision to protest against the negative working system of the top management of power corporations. The State Electricity Council of Junior Engineers has also agreed to join the boycott.

In the notice sent to the Additional Chief Secretary of Energy, the committee has said that there is an atmosphere of fear in the corporations and the just problems of employees are not being resolved. The arbitrary attitude of the top management has caused financial loss to the power corporations. For these reasons, the decision of the agitation has been taken.

The plan for work boycott and the agitation before that was prepared in the meeting of the Sangharsh Samiti held on 8 November. Peaceful Satyagraha and demonstration will be held at Shakti Bhawan Headquarters in Lucknow on 17 November before the indefinite work boycott from 29 November. On 21 November, protest meetings will be held at all district projects from 3 pm to 5 pm. The agitation will start as per rules from 22 November. On 28 November, torch processions will be taken out at district and project headquarters at 5 pm. All employees and engineers will boycott work indefinitely from 8 AM on 29 November.
