Big demonstration by BMS Maharashtra State in Mumbai on December 21, 2022 for demands of Maharashtra workers

Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh Maharashtra Pradesh organised a huge demonstration on 21 December 2022 at Azad Maidan to draw the government’s attention on various problems of workers working in Maharashtra’s organized and unorganized sector. More than 12000 workers participated in the demonstration. A memorandum was handed over to Maharashtra’s Labour Minister Hon. Sureshbhau Khade.

The following demands were raised in the Memorandum:
1. Contractor laborers should be made regular in service like the government of Haryana and Orissa.
2. Social security should be provided for the workers of unorganized sector.
3. Social Security Code 2019 and Wages Code 2020 should be implemented immediately.
4. Sandals to construction workers and domestic workers should be provided immediately.
5. Anganwadi servants should get honorarium Rs. 15000.
6. Minimum wage should be given to the beedi workers.
7. The mandal announced for rickshaw taxi drivers should be established immediately.
8. Privatization and disinvestment of public sectors should be stopped immediately.
9. Future living fund pension should be ₹5000.
10. National Health Campaign employees should be included in regular places in service.
11. Labour laws should be strictly followed.
12. Vishwakarma Jayanti should be declared as National Labour Day.

All the office bearers, department organizers, district officials, industry officials and workers of Maharashtra worked tirelessly to make the movement successful.
