On 10 August 2021, the Maharashtra State Electrical Employees, Engineers and Officers State Level Struggle Committee and Maharashtra Rajya Magasvargiya Vidyut Karmachari Sangathan (Maharashtra State Backward Class Electrical Employees Association) organized a protest meeting in front of Vashi Mandal and Vashi Transmission Zone to oppose the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2021. The general secretary of Maharashtra State Electricity Workers Federation, Com. Krishna Bhoyar; secretary of Women’s Front (Mahila Aghadi), Com. Manju Varma; member of Subordinate Engineers Association, Daud Saheb; and member of Maharashtra Rajya Magasvargiya Vidyut Karmachari Sangathan, Gaikwad Saheb addressed the meeting.
The introductory speech was given by Bhandup zonal secretary Com. Dattatray Kamble, and the meeting was moderated by Vashi Mandal deputy secretary Sharad Mokal. Com. Shashikant Mhatre, secretary of Vashi Mandal, presented the vote of thanks. Com. Vinod Vadekar, Com. Rahul Mule, Com. Yogeshwar Bagul, Kanchan Kitkule, Lata Gharat, Amruta Shroff, and office bearers and members of the Kalwa and Panvel transmission mandals and women workers participated in the meeting in large numbers.
