To,

  2. Honourable Deputy Chief Minister,

  3. Honourable Chief Secretary,

Subject:- Re. Moral support of the Sangharsh Samiti to the strike from March 14 for various demands declared by the state government employees

Sir, The Coordination Committee of the Maharashtra state government, semi-government, teachers, non-academic staff, workers of the municipal corporations, municipalities, city parishads, city panchayats and contract workers have declared an indefinite strike from 14th March 2023 onwards and given you a notice for the strike.

In Rajasthan, Punjab and other states, the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has been implemented for government employees. The main demand of this strike is that the OPS should similarly be implemented for the employees of the Maharashtra Government. Implementing the OPS, making contract workers permanent, filling all vacancies on a priority basis, not cancelling the Grade 4 posts, guaranteed progress plan for teachers and non-academic staff while in service and other demands have been continuously raised and followed up by employees’ organisations for a long time. However, these demands have been deliberately ignored by the administration and that is why the Notice for this Strike has been issued.

The demand for pension is extremely necessary from a social point of view. As the other demands are also very important, the Struggle Committee of the Electricity Workers, Officers and Engineers that is working in the electricity industry is supporting the strike of the state government employees.

The Hon. Chief Minister Eknathraoji Shinde and the Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis are requested to find an honourable solution for the just demands raised by the state government employees by holding talks with the office bearers of the concerned workers’ organisations.

Yours sincerely,
Maharashtra Rajya Veej Karmachari, Adhikari, Abhiyante Sangharsh Samiti
