Congratulatory message from All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF)
On May 25, thousands of electricity workers left their offices and workplaces to demand restoration of the old pension and surrounded the Electricity Board headquarters. The electricity workers announced that they will continue the protest until the old pension restoration is announced. The matter reached the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Seeing the seriousness of the situation and showing sensitivity, he directed to issue an order for restoration of the old pension scheme for electricity workers as well.
It is worth mentioning that the present government of Himachal Pradesh has already ordered old pension for government employees. It is expected that on May 26, orders for restoration of old pension will also be issued for electricity workers.
