MD had to come to the office of the association and apologize to the entire Executive Council
The incident is of 03 June. Due to some work of the Border Road Organization, the electric cable was cut in Rayil Patthar located at BalTal. MD Basir Ul Haq Chowdhary IAS reached the spot and without listening to the engineers, he started abusing the mother of executive engineer in a very rude manner. When the assistant engineer wanted to say something, he started abusing his sister in the same tone. It is not possible for me to write down the obscene words of abuse uttered by the MD.
It is worth mentioning that Amarnath Yatra starts from Baltal. Amarnath Yatra is about to start. Its preparations are going on. In such a situation, the Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineers Association has decided that the Power Engineers will not boycott the work, so that there is no disturbance in the journey and there is no problem for the passengers. But it was decided that if MD Bashir Ul Haq Choudhary IAS does not tender an unconditional apology, the Power Engineers will not attend any meeting of the Power Corporation and the Government.
Finally talks were held with Principal Secretary Energy. After the talks, it was decided that MD Bashir Ul Haq Choudhary would go to the office of the association and tender an unconditional apology for his indecent behavior in front of the Executive Council.
On 12th June, MD Basir Ul Haq Chowdhary came to the office of the Association. No member of the Executive Council stood up to greet him in protest. Everyone sat quietly. Basir ul Haq Chowdhary tendered an unconditional apology for his actions. He was so scared in front of the unity of Power Engineers that he also said that he would never commit such a mistake in future and is ready to apologize in front of the media as well.
This incident that happened in the Kashmir Valley is not a trivial matter. Kashmir valley is a very sensitive place. Power Engineers have done a commendable job by not boycotting work in view of the Amarnath Yatra. On the strength of their unity, they forced the egoists to kneel down.
