Report of meeting of UP Vidyut Abhiyanta Sangh
The meeting of the central executive committee of the UP Vidyut Abhiyanbta Sangh held on 11 June 2023 expressed anger at the management of the UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for not withdrawing the cases registered against employees and union leaders during the state-wide strike in March 2023 despite the categorical instruction issued by energy minister to the UPPCL management on 19 March.
The UPPCL management had taken oppressive actions of suspending, issuing show-cause notices to employees and filed cases under Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) against them to crush the strike.
The union leaders in the meeting also told that engineers are being punished without any of their fault while the management is not providing adequate resources to field officers to maintain power supply.
