All harassment of electricity workers in Uttar Pradesh should be stopped, all dismissed contract workers should be reinstated and recruitment should begin for all vacant posts that had been stalled for the last 4 years

Submission of Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti, Uttar Pradesh, to the Chief Minister

In Uttar Pradesh, approximately 20,000 contract employees have been laid off in the name of retrenchment. More than 43,000 positions remain vacant. The remaining employees are now working five times their capacity, resulting in accidents due to workload and mental stress. This situation requires immediate attention.

In Uttar Pradesh, approximately 20,000 contract employees have been laid off in the name of retrenchment. The remaining employees are now working five times their capacity, resulting in accidents due to work pressure and mental stress, which is very unfortunate.

Today, the Power Corporation has approximately 73,000 regular sanctioned positions. Of these, only 29,000 are currently filled, leaving over 43,000 vacant positions. Due to the negligence of the Power Corporation’s management, no new recruitment has taken place for the past 4 years.

Apart from this, the energy management has been maintaining a dictatorial attitude in the entire state for the last 2 years and has suspended several innocent engineers without listening to anyone’s side. A large number of engineers have been denied promotion by giving them chargesheets. Deductions are being made from their salaries by arbitrarily issuing Rule 10 notices on transformer damage. Adverse entry penalties have been imposed without any reason. Seeing all this, a large number of engineers, employees and contract workers are feeling oppressed. There is no one to listen to them, yet the electricity workers are working day and night to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state.

If the state’s power system is going off track today, the sole responsibility lies with the Power Corporation’s top management and its arbitrary policies. Honorable Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath is requested to reinstate all dismissed contract employees in the larger interest of the state’s people, end all harassment against power employees, begin recruitment for all vacant posts that had been stalled for the past 4 years, stop video conferencing and meetings and work effectively at the ground level, and establish a better work environment in the energy corporations, so that all power disruptions can be resolved in the shortest possible time, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state.
