AIPEF extends full support to Haryana power employees and engineers if the state government does not honour commitment of not granting parallel distribution licence

Letter of All India Power Engineers Federation to the Chief Minister of Haryana

Power employees of Haryana had deferred their strike against the grant of parallel distribution licence for Gurugram and Nuh on the basis of the assurance given by the Power Minister on 10 Aug 2026 that the state government will oppose it. Yet, the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission is going ahead with processing of the parallel licence application for Gurugram. In the meanwhile, Adani group is reported to have also made an application for parallel licence, covering even more districts. In breach of the assurance given to workers, the state government has taken no steps to oppose the applications. If the state government does not intervene immediately, the Haryana Bijli Karmchari evam Engineer Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti will decide further steps at its convention on 10 October to stop privatisation of power sector in Haryana.
