All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) is completing 50 years since its foundation on 16th August. AIPEF has not only played a very important role in uniting power engineers across India, but played an equally important role in forging unity across all sections of power sector workers in the form of National Co-ordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE). AIPEF has also played active role in continuing the work of All India Forum Against Privatisation (AIFAP). Ensure Solidarity Meeting on Golden Jubilee Day
16 AUGUST – AIPEF GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR
On August 16, 2023, 50 years of the foundation of the All India Power Engineers Federation are being completed. The year 2023 has been very struggling. In the beginning of this year, in the month of January, Maharashtra’s power engineers and employees went on strike to protest against privatization, in March 2023, there was a strike of power engineers and employees in UP to get implement the agreement with the Energy Minister, in which the energy Minister’s agreement not honored and management did not follow instructions given by Minister and victimization of power engineers and workers has not been withdrawn yet. Sale of Amarkantak thermal power station in Madhya Pradesh in the name of joint venture in June 2023, strike of power engineers in protest against privatization of transmission sub-stations in the name of competitive bidding in MP, change in bidding document in Puducherry to carry forward privatization process, in Andhra Pradesh in August 2023, the movement of electricity workers and engineers in the state are some of the incidents of this year which give a direct message of unrest in the energy sector.
In the golden jubilee year of the All India Power Engineers Federation, a number of programs are planned in view of the challenges faced by the power sector and power engineers in particular. On August 16, 2023, the Associations of Power Engineers of all the states/union territories should discuss the impending challenges before the energy sector by organizing an integrated program at their level. Programs to be held at the national level for the golden jubilee year will be decided soon.
The effort will be made to make the year starting from August 16 a golden year of excellence for the engineers of the energy sector. All India Power Engineers Federation is a powerful organization today. Central/State Governments, Press, Media all are eager to know the opinion of the Federation on all issues.
