Demand to cancel the New Education Policy

The government is rapidly privatizing education. Due to privatization of education, the children of most of the country’s working population will be on the verge of being deprived of higher education.

 

On October 8, 2023, students and youth organized a conference in Delhi demanding the repeal of the new education policy and ensuring permanent and dignified employment for all. Students and youth from different states of the country participated in it.

At the conference venue, students and youth were holding placards in their hands on which was written – ‘Education is our basic right!’, ‘Give work to every hand!’, ‘Secure employment is our basic right!’, ‘Education is our basic right!’ Stop privatization!’, ‘Give permanent and respectable employment!’, ‘Stop unscientific changes in the curriculum!’, ‘End discrimination based on caste, religion and gender!’, ‘Cancel the anti-student New Education Policy!’, etc.

Speakers at the conference said that the government is rapidly privatizing education. Due to privatization of education, the children of most of the country’s working population will be on the verge of being deprived of higher education.

The conference resolved to further intensify the movement to repeal the New Education Policy-2020 and ensure permanent and dignified employment for all.

The conference was jointly organized by 12 student and youth organizations including Collective, Parivartankami Student Organization.
