Subject: Regarding support for the ongoing agitations against the decision to privatise power departments in Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh
Hon’ble sir,
The Uttar Pradesh government and the Union Territory of Chandigarh have decided to privatise government power companies under the power department. The people, employees, engineers and officers there have called for a protest against this decision. The Maharashtra State Electricity Employees, Engineers, Officers Joint Action Committee believes that power companies, which are owned by the people of the state, should not be privatised. The Action Committee fully supports the ongoing agitations in Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh.
On 11 December 2024, all members of the Action Committee will hold gate meetings and demonstrations during break time in front of the offices of power companies across the state.
The Action Committee is opposed to any kind of privatisation in government-owned power companies in the country. Employees, engineers and officers in Maharashtra have very strong feelings in this regard. The Action Committee is against the policy of any kind of privatisation in power companies. The Action Committee will not tolerate any form of privatisation. This is being shared with you in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Office bearers of the Action Committee
Submitted for information and appropriate action
