Haryana power engineers support strike of Uttarakhand electricity workers

Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) members held protest meetings on 4 October 2021 all over Haryana in support of the agitation of Uttarakhand electricity employees and engineers and against the decision of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam to depute its engineers and technical staff to Uttarakhand for strike duty.

 

The members of the Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) held protest meetings on 4 October 2021 at Hissar, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Panipat, Kaithal, and other circle headquarters in support of the ongoing agitation of Uttarakhand electricity employees and engineers and against the decision of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) to depute its engineers and technical staff to Power Transmission  Corporation of Uttarakhand for strike duty. The Association asked its members not to join illegal strike duty.

 

Shri Ram Pal, President and Shri KK Malik, General Secretary of the HPEA told that the Uttarakhand power employees & engineers have been forced to go on strike after the Uttarakhand government failed to fulfil its written commitments given by the energy minister in July 2021 regarding restoration of original time scales, revision of allowances, and regularisation of contractual employees.

 

All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) spokesperson Shri V K Gupta informed that the AIPEF has written to the Chief Minister of Haryana to withdraw the strike duty orders issued by the HVPN for deputing its employees and engineers to Uttarakhand.
