Joint Forum of Trade Unions and Associations in Public Sector General Insurance Companies holds demonstrations against privatisation and for other demands on 5 October

On the clarion call of Joint Forum of Trade Unions and Associations in Public Sector General Insurance Companies (JFTU-PSGICs) massive dharna and demonstrations were held throughout the country on 5 October 2021 against privatisation, immediate commencement of wage revision and to meet out our legitimate demands.

Comrades, the dharna and demonstration were conducted with full zeal and enthusiasm throughout the Northern Zone.

Comrades, in Delhi eminent trade union leader and General secretary Of AITUC and President of GIEAIA and Com. Binoy Viswam, prominent MP in Rajya Sabha congratulated the employees and officers for successfully carrying the agitation programme to meet out the legitimate demands.

Comrade, Amarjeet Kaur gave a clarion call to prepare for historic trade union action in the days to come to protect the industry and the dignity of the employees. She assured the fullest cooperation from AITUC and other central trade unions in support of the PSGI Companies and the employees.

Prominent Member of Parliament, Com. Binoy Viswam M.P. in Rajya Sabha apprised about the struggle by the opposition M.Ps in Rajya Sabha against unilaterally passing of GIBNA Amendment Act. He said that this amendment is in favour of the crony capitalists and against the public sector, common man and the employees. He said that this amendment will weaken the social objective to the society in large. He in loud voice appealed the employees to reach out to the citizens and the common man to strengthen the ongoing movement. He assured for all possible help from his end in the days to come.

Comrades, The JFTU Constituents met OIC CMD and apprised him of the frustration in the employees due to undue delay in the wage revision and urged him to expedite the matter. OIC CMD, Shri Anjan Dey assured for his positive support.
