The power sector in Ladakh is not merely a commercial entity but a critical public service Department that directly impacts the lives of residents, especially in the region’s harsh climatic conditions and strategic geographical location. Any move towards corporatization or privatization, even in the form of a Joint Venture, raises serious apprehensions among employees, consumers, and the general public. The Joint Venture proposeal should be withdrawn.
