LIC agents resolve to fight privatisation of LIC along with the policy holders and employees at conference of LICAOI

The Life Insurance Corporation Agents Organisation of India (LICAOI) held a successful two- day state conference in West Bengal on September 21-22 at Taki in North 24 Parganas district. About 275 delegates from 8 divisions attended the conference.

They resolved to transform the united movement of all agents, employees, and policyholders into a mass movement to “save LIC”. The delegates said that there was no alternative but to fight.

The All India President of the LICAOI, Shri Basudeb Acharya said in the public rally at the beginning of the conference, “The Central government has weakened LIC and we have to take up the challenge of saving LIC by uniting forty-two crore policyholders and employees, as the danger is not only for LIC but for all”.

On the second day of the conference many papers were presented and discussed which included ‘Life Insurance Corporation, Changed Situation, Responsibilities and Duties of Agents’, ‘Cancel LIC Privatisation Plot’, etc.

Various resolutions adopted at the conference were against LIC disinvestment, for saving nationalized industries and saving the country’s economy, cancelling the four labour codes, ensuring social security of LIC agents, full status for women in all fields to build a better society, etc.
