On 22 February 2023, an Anti-NPS and anti-railway privatisation demonstration was organised at Kharagpur by South Easter Railwaymen Union (SERMU), All India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA), All India Guards Council (AIGC) and Retried Railway Employees Association along with CITU, AITUC and INTUC.
