All India Railway Trackmaintainer Union (AIRTU)

All India Railway Trackmaintainer Union (AIRTU) National President, in a letter dated 27th January, has given notice to the Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, that members of AIRTU will be going on one-day strike on 12th February 2026.
The notice supports demands raised by the Central Trade Unions and farmer’s organizations, including:
- Withdraw the Draft Seed Bill 2025 and Electricity Amendment Bill 2025
- Restore MNREGA and repeal the Develop India – Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Act, 2025
- Ensure the right of workers to organise, form unions, have fair movement and strike
The notice also lists many demands of trackmaintainers including the following:
- Provide “RAKSHAK Device” to keymen and patrolmen as soon as possible to prevent them from being run-over
- Fill up vacant posts through Open Market Recruitment of all cadres in all the departments, stop outsourcing and corporatization in government departments
- Scrap NPS/UPS, restore OPS for all employees
